Piano Categories
The 3rd edition of PRM piano competition is divided into two categories – Artist Category and General Category.
 
The Artist Category exists to create one of the most prestigious contests in classical music, and to launch the careers of its winners.
 
The General Category is not opened to Korea in the PRM 3rd edition.

Rounds & Repertoire Requirement
Preliminary Round
Online Competition, 2024 February
Regional Final Round
Online Competition, 2024 June
Grand Final Round
Live Competition with Orchestra in Vancouver, 2024 July
1 Etude;
1 Baroque or Classical Work;
1 Romantic or Post-Romantic Work;
 
1 Movement of concerto played by two pianos chosen from PRM concerto list
 
1 Movement of concerto played with orchestra;
1 Modern music chosen from the PRM Winning composition list;
1 Own Choice;
 
In the Preliminary Round, the First Place and Second Place winners of each Group from each area will advance to the North America Regional Final Round.
 
 
In the Regional Final Round, the entire North America will be considered as ONE Region, and each group winners will be granted the following awards. (9-year-old group, 10-year-old group, etc.)
1.    First Place: Certificate and Assessment
2.    Second Place: Certificate and Assessment
3.    Third Place: Certificate and Assessment
4.    Achievement Award: Certificate and Assessment
 
The Grand Prize Winner of Junior/Youth will advance to the International Grand Finale Round, performing piano concerto with orchestra. 
Please note: In the Regional Final Round, five groups included in the Junior Category (8,9,10,11,12) will be considered as ONE Junior Category for the Grand Prize Winner selection. Only ONE Grand Prize Winner from the entire North America region will advance to the Grand Finale Round. Same as the Junior Category, Only ONE Grand Prize Winner will be designated from the Youth Category. 
 
In the International Grand Final Round, Pacific Rim International Music Festival will provide the opportunity for the grand finalists advanced from the Regional Final Round to perform a piano concerto with orchestra.

The registration fee is $360 which includes all rounds of registration, including preliminary, regional final, and grand final round.

9-year-old group (born between 2014-01-01 and 2014-12-31)
10-year-old group (born between 2013-01-01 and 2013-12-31)
11-year-old group (born between 2012-01-01 and 2012-12-31)
12-year-old group (born between 2011-01-01 and 2011-12-31)
Youth
CAD $360

PRM's Honorary Carnegie Hall Recital
Pacific Rim International Music Festival will provide New York Carnegie Hall as the venue for PRM winners from three competition regions. 
 
The PRM’s Honorary Carnegie Hall Recital is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in August 2024.
 
The registration for PRM Carnegie Hall Recital is opened to the candidates who advanced to the regional final round of Artist Category, OR the candidates who is the First, Second, or Third Place winner from the General Category.
 
Recital participants are responsible for the recital fees:
1)    A Solo recital fee is USD$325 (max. 5 minutes performance);
2)    A Four-hand recital fee is USD$180 per member (max. 5 minutes performance);
3)    2 complimentary tickets are included per performer. Extra ticket can be reserved at the price of USD$25 / ticket;
